What surprised me the most during my three night stay inBenrat Hotel(TaiKoo Li Chengdu) Chengdu was not the design of the hotel itself, but its ultimate combination of "convenient surroundings and worry free transportation". It completely eliminates the need to waste half of your travel time on the road, making it the most cost-effective travel destination in the Chunxi Road area.
The location of the hotel can be called the "golden coordinate for finding peace amidst the hustle and bustle". It takes only 3 minutes to walk from Exit E2 of Chunxi Road Subway Station and turn into the alley where the hotel is located, so you don't have to squeeze around in the crowds of the business district with your luggage. I landed at Chengdu Shuangliu Airport and took the subway line 3 and transferred to line 2 directly. The entire journey took 40 minutes to reach the hotel entrance, completely avoiding the risk of taxi congestion. Going to Chengdu East Station to catch the high-speed train is more worry free. It only takes 6 stops to get directly to Line 2 subway station. Including the walking time to the subway station, it takes 40 minutes to get to the high-speed train station, without having to rush out two hours in advance.
Draw a circle around the hotel, covering almost all the core points that must be checked in when coming to Chengdu. It takes only 5 minutes to walk into the main block of Taikoo Li and check in with the giant panda climbing to the rooftop of IFS. It takes less than 10 minutes to leisurely wander around, so there is no need to queue up at the entrance of the business district for ride hailing services. Walk along Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street for 10 minutes to check in at Yinshi Square and Qunguang Square. If you want to browse trendy brands and enjoy internet famous desserts, just walk downstairs and lift your foot to get there. I specifically counted the attractions that can be reached within walking distance from the hotel. It takes 15 minutes to reach Hejiang Pavilion to see the confluence of the two rivers, and 20 minutes to walk by the Jinjiang River. Even if you go to Kuanzhai Alley, you can take Line 2 of the subway for 4 stops. There are also direct subway lines to Wuhou Temple and Du Fu Thatched Cottage, without having to take multiple detours.
The most amazing thing is the fireworks around the hotel, completely avoiding the internet celebrity premium on the main street of Chunxi Road. After taking two turns outside the hotel, there is an old Chengdu Maocai hidden in the alley that has been in operation for more than ten years. It can be eaten for only 15 yuan, and the taste is much more authentic than the internet famous shops in the business district. It takes only 8 minutes to walk to Sansheng Street, which is filled with fly restaurants that locals often go to. You can easily choose from sweet water, ice noodles, and bell dumplings, without having to run more than ten kilometers to find delicious food according to the travel guide. After watching the performance at the Nine Eyed Bridge late at night, taking a leisurely walk along the Jinjiang River for 20 minutes will take you back to the hotel. Along the way, you can also enjoy the evening breeze by the river, without having to compete with dozens of people for taxi seats at the bar entrance.
There is a shared bicycle parking spot 50 meters away from the hotel entrance. When you don't want to take the subway, you can scan a car and drive to Taikoo Li in 10 minutes, which is faster than taking a taxi. There are three different bus stops within a 300 meter radius. The direct bus to the Panda Base scenic area can be found at the Chunxi Road station, which is a 7-minute walk away, without the need to wake up early to catch a shuttle bus. During the three days I stayed, I almost visited all the core attractions in Chengdu city, without wasting any time on commuting. Every day's itinerary was relaxed and full.
After staying, I directly added Benrat Hotel(TaiKoo Li Chengdu)to my fixed travel list in Chengdu. In the core area of Chunxi Road, where every inch of land is precious, I can find a place with zero transportation burden and surrounded by surprises, which is really worry free.
